Canada Geese spill wind from their wings to lose altitude as they approach the marsh at Cape May. The twisting action can be so vigorous that the bird momentarily flies upside-down with its head right side-up.
Beautiful! Nice to see them in this unusual flight pattern. Here in Mill Valley they congregate on football fields and aren’t greatly appreciated. Your photos show what amazing aerialists they can be.
